The school budget vote and board election will be on Tuesday, May 18, 2004. Carol Sucharski’s seat is up for election and she will run again. The term will be three years. Petitions to run for the board are due Wednesday, April 28, 2004.

Each year the Coalition votes on whom we will endorse for the school board election. Since Carol is running unopposed we will endorse her unless Coalition members have an objection. If you have an objection, email us.

Leslie Whitely has arranged the Spring Brunch for Saturday, May 1st at Steamboat Landing. Ronnie Lavine is in charge of tickets.

We have invited Larry Blake and Frank Bouza to the Brunch as Honored Guests. Larry is leaving his temporary position as Assistant to the Superintendent for Business, and Frank is Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds. Both have been important to the Glen Cove School District and have made many friends.

Leslie has also arranged for a breakfast at Deasy School for Glen Cove Realtors on April 27th at 10AM.

Ted Holmes has been receiving contributions to our annual fund-raising appeal that lets us take newspaper ads and send mailings to voters.

Steve Gonzalez published an informative interview in the Record-Pilot with Mary Berhang, the Glen Cove School District Coordinator of Physical Education.

Lore Holmes has been in Glen Cove Hospital for several weeks. Her hospital phone is 224-1036, her home phone at 63 Dosoris Way is 671-3975.
