Janet Bates-Wilkins, Doug Brown, and Kurt Schmeller have school board terms that will end this year. We do not know whether they will run for re-election. The election is on May 16th.
John DeMarino is the new Coalition representative to the Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce.
Ted Holmes will send out letters in a few days asking for contributions to the Coalition. Last year, for the first time, we spent more than was contributed
The Administration has hired a public relations company. The website has been improved, there are new pictures, and there are more reports of class activities in the local papers. Dr. Aronstein has been writing a regular column in the local papers.
The Coalition has an updated PowerPoint presentation about the Glen Cove Schools. If you want to invite a few people to your house, Helen Kotzky, John DeMarino, or Don Scarl will bring the presentation. It takes about 30 minutes to show, with another 30 minutes for discussion. We are making arrangements to give the presentation to Glen Cove service organizations and to retirement homes. The presentation also will be on the Coalition website in a few weeks.
