Plans for the coming year

How can communication between the board of education and the community be improved?

• Expand meeting agendas to include one or two sentences explaining each agenda item
• Publish complete board minutes on website and have available at next meeting
• Install a microphone for each board member and administrator
• Allow comments from the public at regular and special meetings
• Explain at each meeting that comments naming particular students, teachers, or administrators are not appropriate and that comment period will be ended when comments begin to duplicate previous comments
• Explain how board members gather the information they need before making decisions
