Meeting of April 17, 2006 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church

Mayor Ralph Suozzi was our speaker. There were 15 members.

• Real estate taxes – Glen Cove should have average (mean) house values as opposed to median house values.
• The Mayor will determine the city financial issues.
• The Mayor said that the taxes should not be assessed for the market value. The assessment should be the square footage.
• Mayor Suozzi said that he would open nighttime for city hall in support of our children for tutoring.
• It would be advantageous for Adult Education.
• Energy – the school district has will have less expensive heating systems. The Mayor also said that he would like to have solar panels.
• Mr. Suozzi always votes “Yes” for the school budget. He will speak to Kevin Wurtz, the Glen Cove School District Assistant to the Superintendent for Business and he will determine to support the school budget.
