The number of students in kindergarten through grade 6 participating in the free-and-reduced-price lunch program divided by the enrollment in full-day kindergarten through grade 6 as of October 2002. For the 2005 school year a family of three must have an annual income below $29,767 to qualify. Not all school districts participate in the program, and the percentage of eligible students who apply varies across participating districts. Therefore, statistics contained in the table may underestimate the number of eligible students.
